Is Blogging a Waiste of Your Time?
ByI don’t know why and how you began blogging, but are you still doing it because of whatever was the reason you started? To me, blog is just a platform to advance my business which is affiliate marketing. Long before blogging I was creating websites using site creator software and it was not easy. To put together a single site, it might have taken anywhere from one to three months. Wordpress blog platform came as a huge time saver and it was version 2.1. I am amazed how Wordpress have improved over the years, not to mention a range of powerful plugins and professional themes.
But again blog is just one of the tools I use in my online business arsenal. These days I can put together a website (blog) in a matter of days. And I can make it really advanced with tracking, customer capture forms, multiple feedback forms, streaming products to the blog and so on. Are you using real power of blogs or just writing?
I see too many bloggers trying very hard to make it online, but their sole focus is on blogging. They follow advice such as you should post every day or sell links from your blog, and eventually got burred in paramount task to keep up with their blog updates… and doing nothing for their business. How many links did you sell lately? Broke $100 a month barrier? Share your story if you do.
Refocus back on your business, blog is just that – blog, and you might want to re-evaluate why you are blogging and maybe it is taken too much of your time already.
My formula for success is to build catablogs. Catablog term surfaced sometime in 2005 and basically means product-focused blogs, not content focused. It does not mean they don’t have content, but rather then publishing offers around content (read sidebar), it’s the other way around. Content is helping you to advance catablog products. Think about it and I hope you’ll see a difference. What if I tell you that 7-day old blog in product niche brought me 2 sales already and has on average 15 visitors a day.
So, why do you blog and do you see it as a tool for your business?

Good question. I think in the realm of net marketing we all have to continually ask ourselves how is BLANK doing?
How is it contributing to my overall goal of BLANK. This is a question i ask myself and at times, i say “not so good”. And at other times, i say “good”.
Most people who venture in net marketing sort of stumbled onto it, and over time they find their way. There is no school for what we do and most of us learn as we go along. You know.
I dabble in a few niches within net marketing, and although i’m nowhere near where i want to be. I am doing much better than when i started. It is a journey.
I have moved discovered the power of affiliate marketing and am looking into the various ways to incorporate it. Some use PPC, some use blogging, some use article marketing, etc.
I am using blogging. It is what i know best. And as you know i also do blog flipping. This is also a great niche within the BIG field of net marketing.
I agree with you that blogging has to fulfill a much larger piece of the pie, than just what was originally meant for. Blogging can be used to market a book, a product, aff programs, etc.
Some say they use blogging simply as intended, to communicate and share ideas. But i say BS. Everyone is selling something. Whether directly or indirectly.
