While this is a valuable strategy and I used it for my niche sites, here is an idea that might light up a bulb for many affiliates. The basic behind this idea is “reverse engineering” of successful niche sites.
What it means really is to know how to evaluate niches by exactly how much money people are already making, and then entering the niche with zero guesswork and hardly any “trial and error”.

@Yan, it’s not about stealing but rather learning from and leveraging competition. Lets say you want to enter weight loss niche. Would you spend days (and maybe weeks) digging into niche, keywords, products to promote… or study already successful weigh loss sites and replicate their processes and research already done? That’s why it is called reverse niche selection - it’ll eliminate a lot of guess work and testing on your part for a niche you want to enter. I think it’s very powerful.
By the way, copying competitor’s site word to word - would be illegal under copyright law, don’t do it.
